Don´t like pesky (honors) students messing with your “system”? Dispose of them. Throw `em in jail.
Look. I don´t like to cry “racism” on a knee-jerk reaction. That being said, this case screams Asian “model minority myth” reverse tokenism to me. The judge admits he wanted to make an example of Tran. Watch the footage.
An example of what?
An example of WHAT???
It´s official. I´m totally in love with Cabas. As usual, I do these things years before, and years after, everyone else does. Through cousins I was already aware of Cabas´ work and the very first time I heard his album his stuff rocked my world. Then he became very popular. Then he took a picture with George W. Bush. And I promptly forgot about him. For a long, long time. And frankly -I still have not forgiven him for the pic with Dubya.
That being said, in a world where Justin Bieber and Pitbull fight it out for male media dominance (with Jay-z in his own category, obviously, designing the blueprint for artists like Kanye, Young Jeezy, etc.) I need more. I need more because the existing options are not enough. I need more real, free, unpredictable artists. Especially beautifully different males, thank you very much.
Les presento/I present to you…a real artist and man. With all the delicious tragic beauty that comes with him.
Andrés Mauricio Cabas Rosales -estás como quieres en este video, Papito.
We can’t wait to see, hear and read all about how Room 220 is totally kicking butt out there.
My name is Ray Stoeser. I am a high school teacher living and working in Detroit. Below is a testament to the power of Tumblr and social networking. Most importantly it is about how 554 complete strangers helped change the lives of my Detroit students.

“Iranian women journalists”. Three words that go together like “high powered explosives”. Worth at least a glance; they risk their lives to write it.
“Congratulations to Michelle Bachmann, proud Tea Partier, for inspiring the term “Ampersand American” by flirting with dual citizenship at the worst possible time. Nice one, Michelle.”
